Black Sandalwood

Originating from South Africa, black sandalwood has hues ranging from a dark golden to reddish brown with black streaks often present throughout the wood. The material is quite workable despite its high density, making it a favorite for machine operations. Sandalwood also responds well to oils and it can absorb various colours of polish for a premium finish.

Carbonized Bamboo

Bamboo is one of the most versatile plants in the world and technically isn’t a wood! Being in the "Grass Family” bamboo holds the world record for being the fastest growing plant, and has a diverse range of uses. It’s lightweight properties along with its unique strength allow it to be one of the most widely used plants in the world. Our carbonization process involves high pressure heating the bamboo fibres which results in a beautiful auburn tint.

Olive

Olive wood is naturally found in Europe and Eastern Africa and with a rich creamy colour the material also features veins of dark brown and black running through its cross-section. Olive wood gives a distinct fruity scent when being worked on and given it’s beautiful veneer when polished, it is also one of the more expensive species of wood.

Maple

Native to Canada, maple trees have a nearly white to off-white creamy colour. This species is most commonly known for being tapped to produce maple syrup; one of the most popular toppings in Canada! The wood grains are generally straight but can also often times provide a wavy pattern. It is also relatively one of the softer woods so workability is exceptionally high.

Red Sandalwood

Rosewood is typically found in South America, primarily in Mexico and the Amazon jungle. With a reddish and cinnamon-brown hue, the wood occasionally has darker streaks present. Lighter sapwood is clearly demarcated from the heartwood. After an oil-base is applied, the wood can take on a mahogany polished veneer.

African Ebony

Originating from East Africa, African ebony is the darkest natural wood and has a glossy sheen. Due to the depth of tone the typically straight grain is not easily made out, though it is fine and uniform in texture. The hardness of African ebony can make it challenging to work with so tools are routinely checked and sharpened to reduce pulling and poor edging.
